ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Under Armour saved the best for last.

Five-star cornerback Kendall Sheffield was the last of the live commitments during the Under Armour All-America game and easily the most dramatic as well.

Sheffield, a native of Missouri City, Texas, chose Alabama over Texas A&M, LSU and FSU. According to 247sports, Sheffield is the third-ranked cornerback in the nation and the No. 28 recruit overall in the 2015 recruiting class.

At 6-foot-0, 181-pounds, Sheffield possesses good size for a cornerback, but where he really excels is in his speed. Sheffield just oozes with athleticism and his elite quickness makes him a monster in coverage situations and also an option in special teams returns.

With that kind of speed, Sheffield will fit right in with the SEC. He became Alabama’s second commit at the Under Armour All-America game. Four-star defensive tackle Daron Payne committed to the Tide earlier.

He is the 24th commitment for Alabama in its 2015 recruiting class. Currently, the Crimson Tide ranks No. 1 overall within the nation’s top recruiting class.
