Every potential recruit is unique and what helps sway a final decision varies between each and every prospect. So what is it that is helping sell Alabama on five-star recruit Isaiah Wilson? For Wilson it’s the rabid Crimson Tide fan base that lives and dies with the football program of course.

In a recent interview on the SEC Recruiting Buzz Podcast with Keith Niebuhr and Kipp Adams, Wilson discussed his interest in the Tide and his positive experience dealing with local fans on during a recruiting trip.

“Honestly I really liked it down there (at Alabama),” Wilson said. “I was looking for a big-time football atmosphere, and you can’t really get any bigger than Alabama. My whole life I’ve been craving the big movie atmosphere of football. I got that and then some at Alabama. I had people stopping me on the street asking me to come to Bama and ‘Roll Tide.’ I went to Pizza Hut and people stopped me and asked me how I felt about Alabama, stuff like that. I really enjoyed it out there. The coaching staff out there is great.”

The 6-foot-7, 354-pound Wilson is rated as a five-star prospect, the No. 4 offensive tackle and the No. 19 overall recruit in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Wilson has narrowed his options down to Alabama, LSU, Georgia and Michigan, with the Tide and Wolverines as the perceived favorites to land his services.

If junior Cam Robinson jumps to the NFL following the season, Wilson would be an ideal replacement to either replace Robinson at left tackle or at least provide recent ‘Bama signee Jonah Williams with some legitimate competition in the battle to replace Robinson next summer.

A member of the 2017 Under Armour All-American Game, Wilson plans to announce his commitment live during the game.
