Florida adds 12th commitment from Georgia LB who picked Gators over rivals

Florida reached into Georgia to land its latest commitment and snag a recruit from its key rivals on Monday.
The Gators landed a pledge from E.J. Lightsey of Fitzgerald, Georgia, who is rated a 3-star linebacker listed at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, according to 247Sports. His 5 finalists were Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech and LSU out of a reported 22 offers, including Miami, Michigan and 10 total SEC teams.
Christian Robinson was his primary recruiter, and the assistant has picked up a couple recruits lately, including 4-star LB Shemar James (Navarre, Florida). It’s the 12th commit of the Class of 2022 for Florida, which has its class now at No. 24 in the 247Sports Composite.
