Florida announced Thursday morning that Week 3’s SEC East matchup between the Gators and Tennessee Volunteers is now sold out.

In other words, we’re in for a packed house under the lights in Gainesville for both squads’ SEC opener. It doesn’t get much better than that.

There’s a lot we’ll learn about both of these teams Saturday. Florida had a rough start to the year against Utah, but it’s unlikely that same team shows up on Saturday against the Volunteers. Florida has plenty of talent, it’s just a matter of getting the rubber to the road at this point. But admittedly, that may be a tall ask.

Week 3 is as good a time as any to turn things around, though. It’s not an overstatement to say the Gators have owned Tennessee at home across the past few decades. Tennessee will be looking for its first win in the Swamp since 2003 Saturday night.

And the Vols are still a bit of a question mark right now. The defense has improved, but the jury is still out on the Vols’ offense, which really struggled (to their standards) last week against Austin Peay.

Florida’s path to victory stems from their defensive front being able to pressure Joe Milton. If he’s frazzled and the Vols’ offense isn’t able to get going, things could get interesting.

As for the Vols, continuing to dominate the run game as they have in Weeks 1 and 2 spells a win on Saturday.
