Florida baseball can mash home runs with the best of the best in the country right now. And on Sunday, the Gators broke the school record for the most long bombs in a single season with one swing of the bat from Ty Evans.
Evans is having an incredible past few weeks, too. He came off the bench to give his team a double and a home run in Florida’s comeback win over Virginia Friday and just gave the Gators the lead in Game 2 against Oral Roberts.
With the below home run, the Gators surpass the school’s record of 132 set in 1998. 133 and counting!

Only 2 teams have hit more home runs than the Gators this season, and only 1 is still playing: LSU. Florida Gulf Coast holds the 2023 home run title for now with 142.
But either of LSU or Florida could theoretically catch the Eagles by season’s end, especially the Gators if they keep playing like this. Heck, Wyatt Langford came inches away from No. 134 in the 3rd inning.
The Gators lead Oral Roberts 2-1 in the 3rd with a lot of ball left to be played.
