Florida head coach Jim McElwain announced several additions to his staff on Monday.
Greg Nord, who served as the running backs and special teams coach at Western Kentucky, will coach tight ends and special teams. Tim Skipper, who has worked with McElwain since 2012, serve as the running backs coach.
Randy Shannon will assume the role of Associate Head Coach/Co-Coordinator and linebackers coach. Terrell Williams will serve as the defensive line coach. Kirk Callahan, who worked as a graduate assistant at Florida from 2010-11, will return as the defensive backs coach.
McElwain also announced that Mike Summers, who served on Will Muschamp’s staff in 2014, will reassume his role as the offensive line coach in 2015. The coach also noted that Mike Kent will work as the director of strength and conditioning.
“As we were putting this staff together, we wanted to make sure that all the parts fit for us to be successful,” McElwain said. “This group has the knowledge, understanding and experience recruiting and coaching in the South, the state of Florida and the Southeastern Conference. They are like thinkers and don’t have self-serving agendas.
“They will all help our players be successful on the field, as students and in life and are excited about the opportunity to join The Gator Nation. This is the first step in putting together an infrastructure that will put the Gators back where we belong.”
The Gators staff also includes offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and defensive coordinator Geoff Collins, who joined the staff shortly after McElwain’s December hire.
