Florida redshirt freshman defensive back J.C. Jackson was arrested early Sunday in connection with an armed robbery.

According to News4Jax.com, Jackson turned himself into Gainesville police after an armed home invasion robbery that took place late Saturday afternoon. The tenant of the residence called Jackson an acquaintance who previously had partied at the location.

Investigators say Jackson entered the apartment with two other male suspects behind him. Once inside, police say Jackson quickly left and one of the two men pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the resident and two of his friends who were visiting.
According to detectives, the suspects made the victims get on the floor where they removed money from the victim’s pockets. The suspects also took the resident’s marijuana and Xbox. The two suspects were seen leaving in a red “Nissan” type car.
Jackson, a versatile player some speculated could work some at receiver, redshirted last season following shoulder surgery.
It’s not the first time he’s been involved with an off-field incident, but from what we know thus far it’s the most incriminating.
In December, Jackson was grazed by a bullet in Immokalee, Fla. In addition to the Christmas Eve shooting, the cornerback was involved in a legal incident on Dec. 13, when he and two other Florida players — Treon Harris and Jalen Tabor — were pulled over by police for speeding.
Florida coach Jim McElwain wasted little time responding publicly.
