Florida safety Marcell Harris is entering the 2018 NFL Draft.
Harris announced Thursday via Twitter that he planned to forego a sixth season with the Gators and head to the pros.
The defensive back suffered a torn Achilles as a fifth-year player, thus missing this past season. He could have applied for a sixth year of eligibility with the NCAA, a GatorBait.net report said.
“No matter what, I will always be a Gator and UF will always have a special place in my heart,” Harris said. “Being a Gator has helped me not only grow as an athlete but also as a person.
“I am thankful for these last 4 years and everything we’ve been through. They’ve turned me into the players and person I am today.”
Harris played in 37 games throughout his Florida career, racking up 102 tackles in addition to two interceptions.
