A Florida defender has apparently decided to stay at UF after considering a transfer.

In early December, Gator defensive end Lloyd Summerall entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. This weekend, it was reported that Summerall has now withdrawn from the transfer portal.

Summerall has not been a major contributor but provides some veteran depth for the Florida defense. A 4-star recruit out of Lakeland (Florida), Summerall signed with UF as part of the 2019 recruiting class. Over the last 3 seasons, Summerall played in 16 games for the Gators, including 11 in 2021. He totaled 8 tackles, including 2 for loss and 1.5 sacks, in those appearances.

Summerall will be listed as a redshirt junior in 2022. He could potentially have 3 remaining seasons of eligibility if he elects to use his extra year from the NCAA’s 2020 COVID waiver.
