After the Gators’ 65-0 victory over Eastern Michigan, head coach Will Muschamp announced some unfortunate news regarding Florida’s newest tight end.

Tight end transfer Jake McGee is likely out for the season after suffering a broken leg.

“We lost Jake McGee for the year,” Muschamp said in his post-game presser.  [It was a ] broken tibia and fibula. So disappointed for him. He’s done as well as you can imagine. This guy is a total team guy and tough guy. It’s extremely disappointing for him.”

McGee suffered the injury while he was blocking as his leg got rolled up on. Trainers immediately put an air cast on his leg and he was carted off the field.

This was McGee’s first game with the Gators after transferring from Virginia.
