If you were to make a guess to where Shawn Davis will end up playing in college, his 247Sports page would indicate that he’ll be spending the next few years with his hometown team in the Miami Hurricanes.

But Davis, a 3-star prospect and the No. 56 overall player at his position from the recruiting class of 2017, has no particular favorite at the moment. That has left the door wide open for Florida, which has caught the Miami Southridge HS star’s attention as of late. He visited Gainesville this past Monday.

“I think can make an immediate impact at Florida,” Davis told SEC Country. “I wanted to watch all the players in action, and that was my favorite part of the visit. They play real physical and have a lot of energy. It was a good experience and looked like a lot of fun.”

Davis (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) currently holds 23 scholarship offers from programs such as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, and more. But he’s not ready to commit anytime soon.

“I’ll a decision after the summer if I’m ready,” Davis said. “If not, I’ll take it to signing day.”
