Florida loses commitment from in-state ATH Jalynn Williams

Florida lost a commitment on Monday evening from 3-star athlete Jalynn Williams.

Williams, a St. Petersburg native, was the first recruit to pledge his commitment to the Gators’ 2018 recruiting class back in January, according to a report from 247Sports’ GatorBait.net.

Williams reportedly visited Florida’s campus multiple times this season. Since Williams committed in January, the Gators fired then-head coach Jim McElwain and subsequently hired Dan Mullen as head coach.

Rated as one of the nation’s Top 100 wide receivers, he also has offers from Kentucky, Miami and Ohio State — among others. Williams is listed as the No. 551 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite.

He announced via Twitter on Monday that he was decommitting and “reopening” his recruitment process:

First and foremost I’d like to thank UF for offering me a football scholarship at my “Dream School”.
At this time I am decommitting from the University of Florida @GatorsFB and “reopening” my recruitment process.
