Florida basketball got some big news on Thursday. Urban Klavzar is now eligible to play for the Gators.
Klavzar, a transfer from Slovenia, was not eligible for Florida’s first 3 games of the 2024-25 season. The NCAA is considering Klavza a sophomore with 3 seasons of eligibility.
BREAKING Todd Golden says Guard Urban Klavzar has been officially cleared by the NCAA and will play against FSU on Saturday.
“We just found out about an hour ago and he was in a meeting” says Golden

Klavzar is listed on the Florida roster as measuring 6-1, 195 pounds. His experience comes from playing internationally, including the FIBA Under16 European Championships in 2018 and ’19.
Klavzar recently earned All-Tournament honors after averaging 16.1 points per game and shooting .383 from 3-point range at the 2024 U20 EuroBasket. In addition to playing for Slovenian national team, Klavzar also logged 33 appearances with CD Estela Cantabria in Spain’s second division, Primera FEB, averaging 8.9 points and 1.3 assists.
The #Gators are hitting just 26% of their three pointers through three games, which ranks 292nd in the country.
Urban Klavzar should be able to provide an immediate spark in that area. https://t.co/xf9gq7sb26
