Florida State made a big addition in the class of 2027 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Noles earned a commitment from in-state safety prospect Mekhi Williams, who chose the Noles over programs like Colorado and Wake Forest.

He shared the news of his commitment with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

It’s still extremely early for the class of 2027, so Williams does not yet have a ranking from 247Sports. However, he is currently a 4-star prospect according to the latest On3 Industry Rankings. As his offer list grows and more scouts are able to see his tape during his recruitment, Williams’ profile should continue to grow.

Williams attends Lennard High School in Ruskin, Florida. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 155 pounds as he prepares for his junior season of high school football.

Williams is the 2nd 2027 commit to join the fold at Florida State so far. The Noles previously earned a commitment from cornerback prospect Jaylen Scott, who hails from Mobile, Alabama. FSU is off to a great start on the recruiting trail under new defensive coordinator Tony White, who was hired this past December.
