Florida State makes the wrong kind of history with 0-3 start to 2024 season

Florida State is off to an abysmal start to the 2024 season that is so bad that it’s made the history books.
The Seminoles, formerly expected to be one of the nation’s top teams of 2024, have instead become one of the most scrutinized teams in college football. They’re off to an 0-3 start, with their latest loss coming in the form of a 20-12 loss to the Memphis Tigers.
With this, Florida State is now the first preseason top 10 team in history to start 0-3 against three unranked opponents, according to CBS Sports’ Shehan Jeyarajah:

It is also the third 0-3 start in program history and the second such start under head coach Mike Norvell. If there was any hope the Seminoles could have turned things around to return to the College Football Playoff picture last week, that seems to be entirely gone.
Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has been one of the team’s most disappointing players, finishing 16 for 30 passing with 201 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception vs. Memphis. The interception marked his second of the season.
“You know, for us and our team, you know, extremely disappointed with the outcome,” Norvell said after the loss to Memphis. “Extremely disappointed the way we played at time. The things that we work and emphasize throughout the course of the week, you know, pre-season, off-season, things that are critically important to being successful are not showing up as consistent as we need them to be.”
Florida State will host Cal in Week 4.
