Florida State has had a nightmare 2024 season. After losing to Duke on Friday night, the Seminoles fell to 1-6 overall and 1-5 in conference play. This is a shocking development for a preseason AP Poll top-10 team. The Seminoles won 13 games in 2023 and will now miss a bowl game in all likelihood.

Unfortunately for the Noles, the bad stats just keep coming. The 2024 Seminoles are the 1st preseason AP top-10 team to start 1-6 since 1989 LSU.

Unfortunately for Florida State fans, another ugly stat came out of this game.

The Blue Devils finished the game with just 180 total yards. Heading into Week 8, FBS teams were 2-62 since the start of last season in games where they had 180 or fewer total yards. Duke made that 3-62 after beating FSU on Friday night.

The Seminole defense was unable to force any turnovers or collect any sacks, which ended up being the difference in this game.

A team with College Football Playoff aspirations originally, Florida State now has losses to Georgia Tech, Boston College, Memphis, SMU, Clemson, and Duke. The only win on the team’s resume is a 14-9 win over new conference foe California.

Brock Glenn was named the starting quarterback after the struggles of DJ Uiagalelei. Glenn was unable to provide a spark, though, as the QB threw for just 110 yards with 2 INTs.
