Florida continues to show why it is ranked No. 2 in the country and a projected No. 1 seed. The Gators (23-3, 10-3 SEC) had no trouble with Oklahoma (16-10, 3-10), notching an 85-63 win in Gainesville to extend their winning streak to 5 games.

There was only 1 tie and 1 lead change in the game. Oklahoma was up early, 6-3 at the 16:39 mark in the 1st half. Once the Gators pulled ahead, they never looked back.

OU’s Jeremiah Fears was the game’s high scorer with 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting from the field and a 4-of-8 mark from 3-point territory while adding 4 free throws. For Todd Golden’s team, it was a balanced effort as 5 players were in double figures.

Standout guard Walter Clayton Jr. led the way for Florida. He scored 18 points with 6 field goals, including 4 3-pointers, both team highs.

Will Richard and Alijah Martin added 14 points each. Richard made 4-of-10 field goals, including 3-of-7 3-pointers. Martin was 5-of-12, with a pair of triples.

Rubin Chinyelu chipped in 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting with 1 free throw. Three-point extraordinaire Urban Klavzar logged 10 points on 4-of-7 field goals, going 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Oklahoma turned the ball over more (13-6) and Florida won the points off tunover battle (18-8). The Gators were also more productive in the paint (28-18) and got more from their bench (28-14).

UF will look to keep it rolling on the road Saturday at LSU. The Sooners will try to bounce back at home against Mississippi State and remain a projected NCAA Tournament team.
