UF’s Foley: ‘Doing something for football is the highest thing on our agenda’

With a master plan for facilities being discussed, Florida athletics director Jeremy Foley wants everyone to know that football’s needs will be at the top of the list.

Speaking at SEC’s spring meetings Wednesday, Foley suggested he will make sure his football program is taken care of as talks continue, with discussions on the master plan now six months old. The Gators opened a $17 million indoor practice facility last August, and more bells and whistles should be on the way.

“I’m trying to figure that out,” Foley told SEC Country. “Trying to figure out again exactly what coach Mac needs. Certainly there’s some team area needs. There’s a lot of things we want to do there but I want to get the master plan in and see what works. Doing something for football is the highest thing on our agenda. Doing something for softball is right up there with it. Obviously there are some things we need to do with baseball, too.”

There’s no timetable for when the plan will be released, but expect talks to continue. It will be interesting to see what Foley unveils at a later date.
