Former Alabama coach Gene Stallings suffers stroke; in stable condition

Legendary Alabama and Texas A&M football coach Gene Stallings suffered a minor stroke Monday morning, as first reported by the Tennessee Valley’s ESPN 97.7 The Zone.
AL.com also reported the news after speaking with former Auburn coach Pat Dye, who was scheduled to appear at an event with Stallings Monday night.
The Zone reported that Stallings is in stable condition after suffering the stroke, which according to AL.com, occurred at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport between 10:30 and 11 a.m.

Stallings was awaiting a flight to Huntsville for the speaking engagement with Dye. The event scheduled for tonight has been postponed.

Stallings suffered a slight stroke in May and was hospitalized in Montgomery.
He coached the Crimson Tide from 1990 to 1996. The Stallings-coached ’92 squad went 13-0 and won a national title. Before his run at Alabama, Stallings coached Texas A&M for seven seasons.
