Former Alabama defenders involved in 2 Raiders roster moves

The Las Vegas Raiders added a former Alabama defender back to their practice squad on Monday. But in a corresponding move, they also got rid of a former Crimson Tide standout.
Las Vegas announced that it restored safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to its practice squad while also releasing defensive back Tony Brown. Those moves came as the team activated linebacker Javin White from the reserve/injured list.
Clinton-Dix, who played at Alabama from 2011-13, played in 1 game for the Raiders earlier this season. From 2014-19, he never missed a game while playing for the Green Bay Packers (2014-18), Washington Football Team (2018) and Chicago Bears (2019).
However, Clinton-Dix didn’t play in the NFL in 2020, after getting released by the Dallas Cowboys prior to the season. He was signed to the Raiders’ practice squad on Sept. 15. In his lone appearance thus far for Las Vegas, he played only 2 snaps on special teams in a Week 3 win over the Miami Dolphins.
Brown, who played at Alabama from 2014-17, hadn’t played for the Raiders this season. He played for the Green Bay Packers from 2018-19, then spent 2020 with the Cincinnati Bengals before getting signed to Las Vegas’ practice squad on Oct. 13.
Having played 33 games over the previous 3 seasons, Brown will now look for another NFL opportunity.
