A fitting way for a frustrating season to come to a close, the Cleveland Browns continued to limp toward the finish line by falling to the Baltimore Ravens, 31-15, on Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Dropping to 6-9 with the loss, the Browns were officially eliminated from playoff contention. Having eyes on at least a Wild Card berth entering the season, rookie linebacker Mack Wilson (Alabama) took it upon himself to apologize to the fan base for the team’s underachieving year.

Scoring the game’s first points when Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) found Demetrius Harris (Wisconsin-Milwaukee) from one-yard out in the second quarter, it looked as if Cleveland was going to take a lead into the halftime break. Instead, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (Louisville) hooked up twice with tight end Mark Andrews (Oklahoma) in the final 1:18 of the half to give Baltimore a 14-6 lead.

Jackson would throw his final touchdown toss of the day to another former member of Nick Saban’s program, tailback Mark Ingram, with 7:42 left in the third to extend the Ravens’ lead to 21-6.

Cleveland pulled within nine, 24-15, with 8:01 remaining when Odell Beckham Jr. (LSU) recorded his third touchdown of the season on a beautifully thrown ball from Mayfield.

Rookie Justice Hill’s (Oklahoma State) first career touchdown – an 18-yard scamper – would seal the deal with 3:39 to play.

Wilson finished with four tackles on the day, tied with Sione Takitaki (BYU) for fourth-most on the team.

The Browns will round out their schedule with a trip to Paul Brown Stadium to battle the Cincinnati Bengals (1-14) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS.

Baltimore (13-2) will host the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-7), also at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
