Trying to keep pace in the AFC Wild Card race, the Cleveland Browns (6-7) traveled to State Farm Stadium in Glendale to battle the Arizona Cardinals (3-9-1) on Sunday.
Tasked with containing one of the league’s most dynamic young quarterbacks – 2018 Heisman Trophy winner and former Oklahoma Sooner Kyler Murray – Cleveland’s 15th-ranked scoring defense had their hands full. Fortunately, defensive coordinator Steve Wilks’ unit received a big play in the first half from rookie linebacker Mack Wilson.

Off to a promising start, the interception was the first of Wilson’s young career. Entering Sunday’s conference crossover action, he had posted 61 total tackles (three TFL), one sack and a forced fumble while appearing in every game.
A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Wilson was a five-star recruit and the No. 2 player in the state in the 2016 cycle. Electing to stay home and play for Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide, he was a second-team All-SEC selection as a junior (2018) and won a national championship as a sophomore (2017).
Looking to end their 2019 season on a high note, No. 13 Alabama will travel to Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida to battle No. 14 Michigan in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl on January 1 at 1:00PM ET on ABC.
