Former Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland has been traded from the Buffalo Bills to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Bills announced the move on their team website Monday afternoon.
Ragland was a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He is being traded to the Chiefs in exchange for a 2019 fourth-round pick.
“Ragland’s place on the Bills roster looked precarious at best,” the web site stated. “He slipped from second string to third string linebacker in Buffalo’s defense during training camp and on Saturday in Baltimore logged just three snaps on defense.”
Between a torn ACL and a switch from a 3-4 to a 4-3 defensive scheme, Ragland apparently just “looked a bit out of place.”
In his college days, Ragland shined as an inside linebacker for the Crimson Tide. From 2012 to 2015, he racked up 220 career tackles and was a part of two national championship teams.
