Former Alabama RB rips off thrilling 56-yard catch and TD run for Chiefs

You know of Derrick Henry and the other big-name, former Alabama tailbacks that have made an impact in the NFL. Add the one-time Tide back Derrick Gore to that list.
Gore, who played for the Crimson Tide in 2015 and 2016 and later transferred to Louisiana-Monroe, caught a screen pass on Friday night and managed to find the end zone after navigating 56 yards for the Kansas City Chiefs.
It wasn’t as much a showcase of power or speed as it was patience. Gore had a load of blockers to lead him and he took advantage of it.
56 yards later… Derrick Gore found a way.

Gore’s trip to the NFL was a long one. He started his post-high school career Milford Academy then went to Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College before arriving in Alabama. Gore wasn’t used much at Alabama at running back but saw extensive work on special teams, and he later transferred to Louisiana-Monroe. Gore rushed for 1,247 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Warhawks.
