Former Alabama RB Derrick Henry picks up NFL honor following huge game

Former Alabama running back Derrick Henry has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week following his standout performance in the 35-10 win over the Buffalo Bills.
Henry carried the ball 24 times for 199 yards and 1 touchdown in the victory, also reeling in three passes for 10 yards with 1 touchdown. That included a 79-yard run in which he reached a top speed of 21.29 miles per hour.
He leads the NFL in rushing now with a total of 480 yards on the ground with Week 5 on the horizon. It’s not the only milestone he is close to achieving, either, as he’ll reach the 10,000 yard mark on his career if he’s able to achieve 18 yards or more in the team’s upcoming matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Based upon the fact that the Bengals have been struggling as much as they have, in addition to Henry’s recent dominance, it’s reasonable to believe that he will indeed achieve that goal. He also is just one touchdown apart from crossing the century mark in his career.
As one of the older running backs in the NFL, he’s proven a case of that talent is timeless. How he continues to make an impact (and make the Titans regret letting him go) will be something to continue to watch this season.
