Former Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs set a new career best on Sunday when he ripped off one a 70-yard touchdown late in the first quarter of the Detroit Lions’ game against the Tennessee Titans. It’s a setting of a new record for him, and comes just a single week after he had set his previous career best of a 45-yard touchdown run against the Minnesota Vikings.
He finished that game with 15 carries for 116 yards with 2 touchdowns.
Here’s a look at the play from Gibbs’ latest and longest run, which also, according to NextGenStats, hit a max speed of 22.03 MPH on. That is good for the second-fastest top speed by a ball carrier this season across the entire league.

So far in this game Gibbs, totals 6 carries and is just 1 yard away from crossing the century-mark yet again, totaling 99 yards on the ground 1 touchdown. Gibbs is currently averaging 16.5 yards per attempt. He also has a single reception for 6 yards.
Gibbs, originally selected by the Lions in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, has been just as much of a factor professionally as he wasn’t for the Crimson Tide back in college.
At publishing time, the Lions have a 42-14 lead on the Titans in the 3rd quarter. The game is airing on FOX.
