Former Auburn safety Jordyn Peters is hoping that the second time is the charm.
After not being selected in the 2021 NFL Draft, Peters signed with the New York Jets in May, but he was subsequently released by the team in early July.
Peters then signed with the Giants on July 21 only to be released three weeks later.
On Friday night, however, he was resigned by the Giants, according to Giants.com, and will now compete for a spot on the team’s 53-man roster, which must be finalized by Tuesday afternoon.
What are Peters’ chances of sticking this time around?
According to Giants coach Joe Judge, who spoke with the media on Thursday, there are open roster spots still available.
“In terms of the majority of the team at this point, we have a pretty clear picture on a lot of positions,” Judge said. “But you know, they got to go out there and they’ve got to play and they’ve got to play with consistency. So, there is a clear picture for the majority of the roster, but there’s still a lot of positions that are up for grabs.”
Peters played for 4 season on The Plains with Tigers, recording 101 career tackles, 2 sacks, and an interception.
