Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Carl Lawson left the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday with an apparent knee injury, and it has been reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Lawson tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2018 season.
Lawson played defensive end at Auburn from 2013-2016, racking up 67 career tackles and 14.5 sacks. Taken in fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, this is not the first time Lawson has dealt with a serious injury. He missed the entire 2014 season at Auburn due to the same issue, a torn ACL.

Lawson enjoyed a breakout campaign during his rookie season in Cincinnati, playing in every regular season game and totaling 16 tackles and 8.5 sacks. After the season-ending injury, he will end his second year as a pro with 6 tackles and a lone sack.
This is tough news for the former Auburn Tiger who has gotten off to such a promising start as an NFL player. He has come back from this same injury before, and will hope to be back by the start of the 2019 season to pick up where he left off.
