Former Auburn quarterback Walker White was a priority recruit for Hugh Freeze and his staff for the 2024 recruiting cycle.
Amid a massive shuffle in QB personnel at Auburn, though, White entered the transfer portal. On Saturday, via a post on Instagram, he announced his commitment to Baylor:
“I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get to work in (offensive coordinator Jake) Spavital’s offense,” White told ESPN’s Pete Thamel. I’m also excited that there’s a clear plan for quarterback development.”
White was considered the No. 5 quarterback in the class of 2024 when he signed with the Tigers. He saw action in one game, a win over Louisiana-Monroe where he completed 2 of his 5 passes for 18 yards while running 4 times for 18 yards.
Baylor, set to face LSU in the Texas Bowl, is currently set to return talented QB Sawyer Robertson in 2025, although the fourth-year junior hasn’t officially announced his plans. Backup DeQuan Finn is in the transfer portal, while Nate Bennett will project as a redshirt freshman. The Bears also signed in-state product Edward Griffin as part of their 2025 recruiting class.
