Nick Saban’s tenure as head coach of the Miami Dolphins wasn’t exactly a pleasant one.
Saban coached for two seasons in the NFL — accruing a combined overall record of 15-17. After repeatedly squashing rumors that he was headed for Alabama, he ultimately left for Tuscaloosa in January of 2007.
Former NFL WR P.K. Sam lashed out at Saban on Wednesday. A former Florida State receiver, Sam enjoyed a six-year NFL career. He played with the Dolphins for two years — which coincided with Saban’s short stint.
Sam had this to say:
Thank you nick saban @AlabamaFTBL. 10 yrs ago today you cut me from the @MiamiDolphins bc I flew home to hug my dad before he died. CLASSY!
— P.K. Sam II (@PKSamII) December 14, 2016
It appears as if Sam had hoped to be placed on the bereavement list. Instead, he was cut from the practice squad in 2006. He was then resigned — and cut again by the team in 2007.
