Former University of Florida kicker Eddy Pineiro was responsible for a game-winning field goal on Sunday in the NFL.

Pineiro nailed a 30-yard kick in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter to give the Indianapolis Colts a 21-18 victory over the Carolina Panthers in the NFL’s preseason Week 1 finale.

The former Florida Gator originally signed as an undrafted free agent with Oakland in May 2018. He signed a FA deal with the Colts this offseason and last kicked in the NFL with the Chicago Bears during the 2019 season. With Chicago, he was 23-for-28 on field goal attempts including 2-for-2 on 50+-yard kicks.

Pineiro, 25, is listed as the backup kicker on the Colts’ depth chart this week, just behind another SEC kicking product, Rodrigo Blankenship (UGA).
