Former Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken, who helped the Bulldogs capture national titles in 2021 and 2022, is getting a contract extension to remain the OC with the Baltimore Ravens. The news was first reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Monday.

Monken was one of the driving forces in helping Georgia win those back-to-back national titles, directing a dynamic offense that overwhelmed college football for 2 straight years. But the Bulldogs couldn’t keep Monken in Athens. In early 2023, Monken left to become the Ravens’ offensive coordinator, returning to the NFL coaching world after a 3-year stint at Georgia.

Monken was also an assistant with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns. He was the Browns’ offensive coordinator in 2019 before Kirby Smart lured him to Athens in early 2020. The partnership was a smashing success, as Monken led the Bulldogs past longtime nemesis Alabama in the 2021 national title game before helping them repeat in 2022, capped by a blowout victory over TCU in the championship game.

Monken has joined forces in Baltimore with star quarterback Lamar Jackson, helping the Ravens’ offense also achieve great success. The 58-year-old’s reported new deal comes after Monken led Baltimore to its first-ever No. 1 ranking in offense in 2024 and helped Jackson to another stellar season. This season, the former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback recorded career highs in passing yards (4,172) and touchdown passes (41).

According to Fowler, Monken drew interest for various head coaching jobs for a second consecutive season this winter. Per Fowler, he interviewed with the Jaguars and Chicago Bears.
