Another former SEC star player has been hired by the SEC Network.

Former Georgia QB D.J. Shockley will be joining the network as an analyst for the upcoming college football season. The network made the announcement Monday.

Former Georgia quarterback D.J. Shockley will debut on SEC Now as the network’s newest college football analyst beginning week one. Shockley played for the Bulldogs from 2002-2005. He was named the MVP of the 2005 SEC Football Championship and also won the CFA Bobby Bowden Football Player of the Year award. Shockley was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2006 and has mostly recently been working in sports television.

Shockley served as a backup for his first three seasons at UGA before inheriting the starting job as a senior. One of the few dual-threat QB’s that UGA has seen, Shockley was phenomenal in 2005 with 2,910 total yards and 28 total TDs for the Bulldogs.

The SEC Network tweeted the announcement with a photo of Shockley:

Shockley will be joined at the network by fellow ex-Bulldog Matt Stinchcomb.

SEC Film Room returns for its fourth season on Wednesday nights, breaking down the Xs and Os with Southeastern Conference head coaches following their latest matchup. This season the show will be hosted by college football analyst and former Georgia offensive lineman Matt Stinchcomb.

UGA fans will enjoy seeing these two players on the network after watching them on Saturdays throughout their college careers.
