Former Georgia standout quarterback Matthew Stafford has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. According to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter, the team believes Stafford is suffering from a strained neck.
So far this season, Stafford has completed 68% of his passes for 2,087 yards with 10 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. In his latest performance, a 27-20 victory over the New Orleans Saints, Stafford was good for 11-of-18 passes for 159 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Stafford entered concussion protocol after he had to leave the game and was replaced by Bryce Perkins. With Perkins the only healthy quarterback currently on the team, the Rams signed veteran Case Cookus to the practice squad Wednesday.
Another QB change: Rams' HC Sean McVay has ruled out QB Matthew Stafford for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs due to what the team believes is a strained neck.
