Former Georgia RB Todd Gurley unloads on Thursday games with blunt statement

Thursday games in the NFL have varying levels of popularity among the players and fans. The quality is often sub-par compared to Sunday and Monday matchups, however, the divisional aspect to them makes them appealing for the standings.
As the Los Angeles Rams gear up for a Thursday game this week against the Seattle Seahawks, former Georgia RB Todd Gurley made it very clear where he stands in the discussion.
“You know how I feel about Thursday night games,” Gurley told reporters after the Rams’ 55-40 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as reported by USA TODAY. “I feel like they are the dumbest thing ever.”
The road team, which the Rams are this week, is in an especially difficult position, and shorter timeframe to recover. Perhaps that’s why the Rams brought exercise bikes and massage tables into the postgame locker room on Sunday to help players get a head start on the muscle recovery process before Thursday’s action.
“For the most part, if you aren’t really battling injuries or stuff like that, Thursday is kind of like a day you usually feel good anyway,” Gurley said. “(The Seahawks) played on Sunday, as well.”
Thursdays aren’t the only scheduling problem for the Rams. They play an international game in London against the Cincinnati Bengals next month.
