There was sad news out of Baton Rouge on Sunday morning with word of a shooting that reportedly claimed the lives of multiple police officers. CBS News reported that as many as seven Baton Rouge officers were shot and two are dead.

Former LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, now a safety with the Arizona Cardinals, took to Twitter on Sunday to express his thoughts with the hashtag, “PrayingForBatonRouge.”

Mathieu spent the 2010 and 2011 seasons with LSU before he was dismissed from the program in August 2012 for violating team rules. But the 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist has recovered well since becoming a third-round pick by the Cardinals in 2013. He was named a first-team All-Pro selection after last season.
