Ethan Pocic has signed his rookie contract with the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced Friday. The LSU standout signed a four-year deal worth roughly $4.4 million.
Pocic was Seattle’s second-round draft pick this year. He was the fifth offensive lineman selected, but he was the first center taken.
It remains to be seen how Pocic will be used in Seattle. He made 27 career starts at center for the Tigers, but he also has seen experience at right guard and right tackle. At 6-foot-6 and 300 lbs, Pocic certainly has the size to play multiple positions in the NFL.
Pocic was named to the All-SEC first team following his senior season. He was also named a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America. One key for Pocic is the fact that he remained healthy while starting all 12 of LSU’s regular season games his junior and senior season.
Pocic should find a spot to contribute in Seattle where he will be blocking for Russell Wilson.
