Former LSU linebacker Devin White honored as the NFC Defensive Player of the Month in September.

White has been a defensive force for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers through the 1st month of the 2022 season. He received the award for being one of the leaders of his team’s defense.

In 3 games, White recorded 24 tackles and 3 sacks for the Buccaneers. He had 3 tackles for a loss and defended 2 passes. White has been a tremendous factor for his team and he stood out among the rest of the defensive players in the NFC.

In the latest game vs. the Green Bay Packers, White registered 5 total tackles. He started off the season with 2 sacks against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. He followed that up with another sack in Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints.

Since he was drafted in 2019, White has fit in nicely with Todd Bowles’ defensive scheme in Tampa Bay. He was a key member of the defense that won the Super Bowl in 2020. White reached his 1st Pro Bowl in 2021 with 3.5 sacks and 128 total tackles.

In just over 3 seasons, White has 18 sacks and 383 combined tackles. He has emerged as one of the best defensive players in the NFL in less than 4 seasons.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.
