Former LSU players wished they had another year to play for Coach Orgeron
There are multiple recruiting tools used to draw top talent to any university.
The actual act of winning is obviously at the forefront. Having the ability to develop players for the NFL is also a major plus.
LSU is superlative when it comes to both categories. There’s also one more positive aspect: Ed Orgeron.
The boisterous head coach is full of energy and passion. A native of Louisiana, the LSU position is truly his dream job. Two former players — Duke Riley and Tre’Davious White — both heaped tremendous amounts of praise upon Orgeron at the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis.
Riley had this to say:
“I’m a huge Coach Orgeron fan. I live and breathe purple and gold. I feel like what Coach O is about to do for that program is unbelievable. He’s turning it around, he’s creating a brotherhood. I’m NFL ready but I wish I had another year just to be coached a full year under him because I know what he’s creating over there.”
White echoed a similar sentiment:
“There’s no guy that those guys would rather play for. I wish I had one more year to play for him. I’m looking forward to (2017). Those guys are gonna have my full attention every Saturday. It’s all around. He’s a great recruiter. A great coach. A great motivator. He’s really enthused on the field. He keeps everybody involved, man. It’s a different feel, a different atmosphere around that building now.”
Orgeron’s ability to connect with players certainly contributes to his reputation as one of the nation’s best recruiters. With former players publicly offering these opinions, it should only help in making LSU’s 2018 recruiting class highly successful.
