The New Orleans Saints and their fans haven’t had much to cheer about this season, but maybe this news will cheer them up.
Kwon Alexander, a former LSU standout, has been given the Ed Block Courage Award, which is given to an NFL player on each team who has persevered through adversity.

Alexander’s teammates voted for him to get the award because he successfully rehabilitated from a ruptured Achilles tendon injury he suffered in the team’s victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Dec. 25, 2020.
Alexander rehabbed the whole offseason and returned to the team at the start of the 2021 season.
Alexander played linebacker for LSU from 2012-2014 and was drafted in the fourth round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015.
