Former Mississippi State coach Joe Moorhead in hospital, recovering from surgery
Former Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead is recovering in the hospital from recent surgery.
John Canzano of The Oregonian says Moorhead, now the offensive coordinator at Oregon, is dealing with a “non-COVID related” medical issue. Moorhead traveled with the team but did not coach against Stanford.
Update on Oregon offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead… he remains in the Bay Area and is resting in the hospital.
Moorhead had surgery on Saturday, I’m told. His issue was termed “non-COVID related” by UO. Will update when I know more.

The Ducks went on to lose to the Cardinal 31-24 in overtime.
Moorhead was head coach at Mississippi State for the 2018 and ’19 seasons. He led the Bulldogs to an 8-4 start his first year, before eventually getting fired in early 2020 after a 6-7 season in 2019.
Moorhead joined the Oregon staff as offensive coordinator ahead of the 2020 season.
