Former Mississippi State standout Jeffery Simmons is headed to the Pro Bowl.
This will be the 3rd Pro Bowl selection of Simmons’ career. The first Pro Bowl appearance for Simmons was in 2021 and his 2nd selection came the following season in 2022.
The star defensive tackle was not initially selected in 2024, but Baltimore Ravens’ DT Nnamdi Madubuike will be forced to miss the game due to an injury, so Simmons will play instead.
2024 was Simmons’ 6th season in the league. The DT racked up 76 tackles, 5 sacks, and 11 tackles for loss for the Tennessee Titans in 2024.
Simmons came into the league as a 1st-round selection of the Titans in the 2019 NFL Draft. Since his rookie season, Simmons has been one of the best interior defensive linemen in the league, racking up 309 total tackles and 31.5 career sacks.
Of course, Mississippi State fans are used to seeing Simmons dominate. The big DT played for the Bulldogs from 2016-18. In that time, Simmons collected 163 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, and 7 sacks. Simmons earned First-team All-SEC honors in 2017 and 2018 and won the Conerly Trophy, which is annually given to the best college football player in Mississippi, in 2018.
The 2025 Pro Bowl Games will kick off from Orlando, FL on Thursday. For the 3rd season in a row, the Pro Bowl Games will consist of skills competitions and a non-contact flag football game. Last year’s Pro Bowl flag football game was a high-scoring affair, with the NFC defeating the AFC by a score of 64-59.
