E.J. Gaines’ time in Buffalo appears to be over.
The Buffalo Bills have reportedly reached an injury settlement with the former Missouri defensive back. Gaines landed on IR with a groin injury earlier this month. With the injury settlement, Gaines will be able to sign with any team once he is healthy.
Gaines has played for three franchises (St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns) over the past five seasons (2014-18). He signed a one-year, $3.6 million deal to return to Buffalo in the offseason with hopes of winning a starting spot in the Bills secondary.
In his career, Gaines has played in 43 games, starting 38, and defended 33 passes including four INTs.
The Bills have released CB E.J. Gaines from IR with an injury settlement. He is eligible to sign with another team upon getting healthy.
