Former Missouri WR T.J. Moe took some time to write a great thank-you letter to retiring coach Gary Pinkel this morning. Pinkel announced his retirement Friday night because of health issues.
The first eight paragraphs all started with a thank you, including thanking Pinkel for recruiting him, for always having the players’ backs, for being a disciplinarian, to be a man, handle adversity and be accountable. He finished with thanking Pinkel for giving him a chance and for changing the culture at Missouri.
He finished the letter with some motivational comments for Pinkel as he continues his battle against cancer.
“I’ll leave you with a quote of your own to encourage you during this time.”
“What do we do when adversity hits? WE FIGHT LIKE HELL!”
“And I know that’s exactly what you’re going to do in your MANY years left.”
“I love you, Coach Pinkel, and I’m proud to know you.
