Once a solid force on the football field, former Ole Miss defender C.J. Johnson is hoping to have a similar impact in the future on the sidelines. Per his Twitter account, Johnson has announced he will be an assistant coach this upcoming season at East Mississippi Junior College.

A former 5-star recruit out of Philadelphia, Miss., Johnson accrued 13.5 sacks, 27 tackles-for-loss, and 180 tackles throughout this career in Oxford. Not fully living up to the considerable hype he entered college with, Johnson went undrafted this past April.

The former linebacker was signed in early May by the New England Patriots — before being released on July 21.
