Former Tennessee wide receiver Grant Frerking is one of the most involved individuals there is in name, image and likeness.

Frerking is On3’s Director of Athlete Network Development. Needless to say, he is involved at almost every level of player involvement in this issue.

“As someone who has played in it and is still close to so many people who are still playing with in it… I’ve never seen one example of that,” Frerking said on That SEC Podcast, live from SEC Media Days. “And that’s someone who’s played at the highest of levels.”

This has been a constant topic of conversation over the first couple of days in Nashville for SEC Media Days. So much to the point that Commissioner Greg Sankey felt the need to address the need for more oversight of the issue.

NIL continues to be a new program that has obstacles that need to be overcome in regards to finding the best possible solutions to regulating it as something other than “pay for play.” People like Frerking are trying to help make sure that this is not something that can prove to be a distraction for programs.

As people like Frerking exist, then more discussion can be had in trying to make NIL work as smoothly as possible.
