The first unofficial depth chart of the New York Jets’ camp has been released and just one rookie was listed on the team’s first-team. That rookie wasn’t taken in the first or second round, but was selected in the third round, as former Georgia linebacker Jordan Jenkins has been lining up at outside linebacker.
Jenkins, selected No. 83 overall, is the lone rookie starting at linebacker, despite the team using the No. 20 overall pick on Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee. Lee is currently slotted as the No. 2 inside linebacker.
As a Bulldog, Jenkins recorded 19 sacks and 39 tackles for loss. During his fourth and final year, he was a co-captain and was voted as the team’s Defensive MVP. Jenkins impressed during Senior Bowl practices.
