Former Tennessee RB Jalen Hurd was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft Friday night by the San Francisco 49ers.

Ironically, Hurd was the 67th overall pick, the same pick that Alvin Kamara was drafted by the Saints in 2017.

Hurd left Tennessee during the 2016 season, transferred to Baylor, sat out a season and changed positions. Impressively, he became a third-round draft pick. Hurd caught 69 passes for 946 yards and four TDs in 2018 as a WR in 2018.

He was named the Big 12’s Newcomer of the Year.

Hurd is still learning to play WR, and once he has a strong handle on the position, he could really make some money on his second contract.

As we sit mid-way through the third round, Tennessee has yet to have a draft pick.
