ESPN updated its Football Power Index rankings, which measures a team’s strength of schedule to predict its performance for the remainder of the season, Sunday following Week 9.
Four SEC teams were included in the top 10 while seven made the top 20. Alabama topped the list with a 30.6 FPI rating, Auburn ranked sixth at 23.4, LSU ranked eighth with 22.5 and Texas A&M ranked ninth with 20.7
Ole Miss was the highest-ranked team with a losing record at No. 14 (16.3). Florida (No. 15) and Tennessee (No. 19) were also included in the top 20.
LSU tops the list for toughest remaining schedule, followed by Mississippi State at No. 2. Florida (No. 5), Vanderbilt (No. 6), and Arkansas (No. 11) each ranked in the top 20 as well.
LSU will face top-ranked Alabama in Week 10, while Mississippi State matched up against Texas A&M.
