Four-star athlete Tim Irvin from Miami, Fla. made his college decision live on national television at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Saturday afternoon.

The 5-foot-9, 186-pound recruit chose the Texas Longhorns over Florida and Auburn.

Irvin, perhaps more well-known as the nephew of  NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, became the second Miami native at the U.S. All-American Bowl to spurn the SEC for Charlie Strong and the Longhorns. Tight end Devonaire Clarington chose Texas in the second quarter of the game.

“It was a humbling opportunity when us [Miami] guys went down on our official visit to Texas,” Irvin said during his commitment. “We’re going to stick together and we’re going to build that Florida bond.”

The newest Texas Longhorn played both sides of the ball in high school, excelling as a wide receiver, running back and safety.

According to 247sports, Irvin is the 23rd ranked athlete national the 33rd best prospect in the state of Florida.
